Current Courses
Every Spring semester, Dr. Thompson teaches a Research Methods course for graduate students in the Psychological Sciences.
In this course, students develop an independent research project and receive several rounds of constructive feedback about their project from their peers and Dr. Thompson. Many students use this writing opportunity to develop their Masters Thesis project or a follow-up study for their first-year research project. Furthermore, in weekly discussions, we focus on transparency in scientific practices, ethical considerations, how to use a diverse array of methodologies to amass converging evidence to answer research questions, and assessing the reliability and validity of measures and our interpretations of results, among many other topics.
